Ela has been part of the Wright Training community since 2022, joining after Crystal offered a discount for ski instructors. Between the 24-hour gym access and the abundance of barbell racks, she knew she'd found the perfect place to train.
Her favorite exercises? Back squats and sandbag get-ups as they both help to build the strength and stability she needs for big mountain adventures.
One of Ela's proudest accomplishments was completing the Zion Traverse. She did the 44-mile trail run with over 7,000 feet of elevation gain in just 13 hours. It was the first major effort in over two years where she completed the challenge without hip pain, thanks to the coaching and strength training at Wright Training.
Today, Ela's focus is on staying strong for backcountry skiing, high alpine activities, and running farther and faster through the summer, while staying injury-free.
When asked why she keeps coming back, Ela says it's about much more than the workouts:
"I love the classes because of the community and the coaching. Everyone wants to be there and have a good time, and the coaches are amazing at matching your energy and correcting form when needed. I did Ski Fit for the first time last year and showed up on day one of ski season, and my legs didn't even hurt! The training allows me to get outside and accomplish what I set out to do."
For anyone thinking about trying Wright Training, Ela has one piece of advice:
"It isn't as scary as you think. A small gym and lifting weights can feel intimidating, but the culture is all about pushing each other safely and getting just a little better every day."
